KIPP Endeavor Academy is a free, open enrollment, college-preparatory charter school currently serving students in grades in Kindergarten through 8th grade. 

Located in the urban core of Kansas City, our mission is to equip our students with the knowledge, skills and character strengths necessary to succeed in top-quality high schools, colleges, and the competitive world beyond.  KIPP is committed to supporting all of our students to and through college.  Over the past two years, 99% of KIPP Endeavor Academy's graduating 8th grade class were accepted into college-preparatory high schools.    

 
At KIPP Endeavor Academy, we are looking for highly dedicated educators with two years of teaching experience in an urban setting.  We ask that all candidates embody a Whatever it Takes attitude.  KIPP teachers are responsible for delivering effective, high-quality, rigorous instruction in their content areas that produce unmatched results and student understanding.  Teachers will perform additional duties and do Whatever it Takes for all KIPP Endeavor Academy students to learn.  
 
Students, staff, and parents are held to high expectations.  We hold one another accountable to these standards and we always support our teammates.  Ninety percent of our students are African American or Hispanic and over ninety-two percent qualify for the free or reduced lunch program.  Students spend over 20% more time in class at KIPP than their peers in the Kansas City, Missouri school district.  
 
Responsibilities of a KIPP Teacher:
  • Believe deeply in the mission of KIPP and subscribe to KIPP’s Five Pillars
  • Hold high expectations for themselves and each student
  • Possess a strong knowledge of their content area
  • Implement the school-wide student management policies within classrooms and everywhere on campus
  • Build positive relationships with students, staff and parents
  • Create and foster a positive learning environment
  • Be available for Open House, Parent-Teacher Conferences and other miscellaneous school events
  • Assist in the development of curriculum standards and mapping
  • Maintain a neat, clean, classroom environment and a professional personal appearance
  • Serve on school committees as needed
  • Perform school-wide duties as necessary
  • Remain on call in the evenings (via school issued cell phone) to provide student support

Qualifications required of all applicants
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Pass Criminal Background check
  • Valid Missouri teaching license
  • Highly Qualified Status or plan to become Highly Qualified
  • Commitment to working with under-served students
  • Two years of teaching experience (preferred)
  • Experience/strength in content area (preferred)
  • Experience in urban school setting (preferred)
Compensation: Salary is based on years of experience and degree of education. A competitive benefits package is also offered in addition to a school issued cell phone, laptop, and iPad.
