KIPP New Jersey is looking for a Managing Director to lead our KIPP through College teams across Newark, Camden, and Miami to ensure our students can live choice-filled lives.

Must haves:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience working with first generation, low income and/or underrepresented students
  • 3-5 years of experience leading and managing a large, high performing team
  • Track record of measurable, exemplary results
  • Solution-orientation
  • Unwavering belief that all KIPP New Jersey students can and will finish college
  • Unwavering determination to do whatever necessary to help KIPP NJ students achieve their goals
  • Ability to multitask, work collaboratively, and maintain focus
  • Track record of working effectively with different stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with Salesforce or similar-type student database systems
  • Comfortable using Excel and Google spreadsheets
  • A car for travel to KIPP NJ schools in Newark and Camden and colleges and partnership institutions
  • Ability to travel occasionally to Florida and other out of state training and PD
Here’s what you’ll be doing:
Strategic Planning and Execution
  • Develop, execute, and aggressively monitor a short and long-term KTC strategy to ensure that our alumni are graduating from college within 4-6 years and leading choice-filled lives
  • Set annual KTC goals focused on college match, college persistence and completion, career readiness, and talent development/retention and support KTC directors in achieving said goals
  • Develop and monitor KTC placement program in Florida
Team Leadership
  • Manage, coach, and develop placement, persistence, and career directors across Newark, Camden, and Miami
  • Build and nurture a high performing leadership team that produces excellent outcomes for our students and alumni
  • Plan and lead quarterly professional development for KTC teammates across Newark, Camden, and Miami
Partnership Management
  • Establish,negotiate and maintain strategic college partnerships (2 and 4 year) to ensure that KIPP New Jersey alumni are enrolled in colleges where they are likely graduate from
  • Establish innovative partners to support multiple pathways and career outcomes for our students and alumni
External Stakeholder Management
  • Support the KIPP New Jersey Development team on grant proposals and reports focused on KTC programming and support
  • Share knowledge and expertise across KIPP NJ/Miami on topics relating to college completion and career success; this includes advising school leaders and other regional/organizational leaders, and presenting to large and small groups of KIPP NJ/Miami staff
Board Management
  • Provide Board of Directors with quarterly reports focused on progress towards annual goals and present to the Board of Directors annually
  • Lead and facilitate KTC board committee meetings in collaboration with the KIPP NJ Development team
