Here’s what you need to know:
KIPP New Jersey is looking for a Systems Administrator who will be responsible for all aspects of administration of our Active Directory/Azure AD/Office 365/Google Suite environment, including deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting Windows servers (physical and virtual), Windows 10 Intune deployment, and SaaS systems. The Systems Administrator will work in tandem with other Systems Administrators and will report to the Managing Director of Technology.

Must haves:
  • Minimum 5-7 years in the IT industry, with 4+ years in systems administration – preferably with experience in an educational organization
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Strong understanding of Active Directory (on premise), Azure AD, O365, and Google environments; Microsoft licensing
  • Extensive experience with deployment and administration of Windows 10 computers; preferably in an Azure AD, Intune environment
  • Experience with:
    • Windows Server 2012+
    • VMware ESX 6.1 or higher
    • Microsoft SQL Server management and administration
    • VOIP system administration; preferably Shoretel/Mitel
    • PowerShell or other scripting languages
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking concepts and technologies
  • Collaborative work ethic with a strong drive to learn and share knowledge
  • Highly self-motivated and directed, with excellent attention to detail
  • A determined problem-solver who works best in a goal-oriented, timeline-driven environment with the ability to create and innovate
  • Excellent communicator, with the ability to translate business and technical needs and successfully interact at all levels of the organization while functioning as a team player
Nice to have:
  • Experience with:
    • O365 Exchange administration
    • Cisco infrastructure (Networking, Meraki, Webex, Umbrella, Licensing, etc.)
    • Front-end development languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
    • Enterprise macOS administration; preferably with Jamf Pro
    • Kaseya Management Suite 9.X
    • Lightspeed Content Filtering System
    • Sophos, Carbonite, Dameware
    • DSX Access Systems, Avigilon Security Systems
  • Preferred certifications
    • MCSA/MCSE 2012+

Here’s what you’ll be doing:
  • Domain management of Active Directory and Google Apps for Education environments.
  • Design and oversee account provisioning and SSO systems: Identity Automation, Okta, Google and others.
  • Administer and optimize enterprise device management tools such as Microsoft Intune, Kaseya, Jamf Pro, Chrome Device Management and others.
  • Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot the health, performance and reliability of all servers and services, including patching, capacity planning, availability, and application performance.
  • Deploy, manage, upgrade and troubleshoot VMware vSphere clusters.
  • Manage Zendesk environment including design and configuration of all automations.
  • System administration and support of non-IT systems such as Accounting, HR, and Recruitment solutions.
  • Assist in the integration of new technology and re-configuring current systems to accommodate changing requirements.
  • Monitor E-LAN network which spans our 11 sites across 3 cities - Newark, NJ, Camden, NJ, and Miami, FL.
  • Accurately log network and server outages and incidents, including participating in 24x7 On Call rotation (1 week every 1-2 months).
  • Provide Tier 3 end user support.
  • Lead problem-solving efforts that often involve outside vendors and other support personnel and departments.
  • Define and document procedures, policies, and technical instructions for team and staff.
  • Develop and implement project plans; manage some project implementations.
  • Mentor and cross train team members on existing and new technologies.
