Here’s what you need to know:       
We’re looking for after school instructors for the current school year! Our elementary school is seeking great teachers to help our students climb the mountain to college. Our teachers are dynamic leaders both in and outside of their classroom. They love students, families and the community they serve. They are also willing to do whatever it takes to make sure their students learn and achieve.

As an after-school instructor, you will join our growing Team and Family at KIPP Lanning Square Primary, our flagship school in Camden. Additionally, you will be responsible for planning and executing lessons for our elementary scholars.
 
A bit more about you… you have experience working with elementary students and understand how to get them excited about learning. You have the passion and drive to work with students and put them on a path to college.

Here’s what you’ll be doing:
Joining our elementary school as an after-school instructor comes with a lot of growth opportunities, but with great power comes great responsibility. Here are a few for this position:
 
  • Assist students with homework
  • Support classroom management
  • Gain the opportunity to lead groups of students on your own
  • Manage student dinner, recess, and program dismissal
  • Support behavior management – incentives and consequences
  • Attend staff meetings
  • Attend trainings and professional development opportunities
  • Co-facilitate fun, engaging, and positive classroom experiences for students
  • Ensure safety protocols and procedures are upheld
 
Must Haves   
  • The ability to manage groups of 10 students on your own
  • A high school degree or equivalent
  • Previous experience working with children
  • A commitment to continuously improving your skills at working with children, through training and coaching
  • A growth mindset and responsiveness to feedback
  • The ability to be flexible in a new program environment
  • Zest, grit, hope, love, social intelligence, gratitude, and a sense of humor 
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude and energy, and motivation to take initiative
