KIPP Texas is committed to the development and career progression of our teachers. As a result, KTX has designed a Teacher Pathway program to develop, recognize and reward excellent teachers because we have determined that having great teachers in our schools is key to our ability to close the opportunity gap for our students. This person works with leaders from across our schools, state and network teams to lead the design, execution, communication and training required for the success and scalability of the Teacher Pathway. The ideal candidate will have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong project management and organization skills, strong team management experience and a record of success in leading complex, cross-functional projects. The candidate will be passionate about teacher effectiveness and should have experience as an instructional leader or in teacher evaluation. The Director will report directly to the Managing Director of Talent Development.
This position has anticipated start date of June 1, 2019.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Manage Teacher Pathways integration across KIPP Texas in partnership with Managing Director of Talent Development
Own execution of and refine as necessary the strategic vision for integration of Teacher Pathways across KIPP Texas
Ensure continued successful development of the Teacher Pathways program in Austin and Houston
Manage strategic working groups across KIPP Texas School Support Partners Team and regional leaders to drive key inputs forward
Create, manage and execute towards full implementation of Teacher Pathways in Austin and Houston
Ensure all inputs to the Teacher Pathways are monitored, executed, and continuously improved, including the coaching and evaluation framework, student and family surveys, compensation, student growth and achievement
Manage roll-out of Student Growth and Achievement input of Teacher Pathways in Houston
Manage team of Teacher Pathways Managers’ and partnership with external consultants
Lead and facilitate decision making in partnership with internal Steering Committee members (with key stakeholders from Finance, Compliance, Human Resources, Academics, Analytics team members)
Build, manage, and maintain deep partnerships with key stakeholders to the success of Teacher Pathways
Head relationship manager with regional leads to drive Teacher Pathways forward
Create and present region and state wide updates on Teacher Pathway to keep all staff members trained, informed and invested
Create and manage communication plan to inform all stakeholders at regular intervals
Invest School Leaders and APs as champions of the program via formal and informal check-ins, trainings, and information sharing
Manage and communicate Teacher Pathways team towards strong data management
Coach team to develop effective and efficient systems for data reporting, management and communication to stakeholders
Accountable for ensuring all data is captured on a timely and consistent basis
Strong stakeholder management; person will work with a variety of stakeholders across both Austin, Houston and KTX leadership
Ability to manage towards outcomes in cross-functional setting without formal management authority
Demonstrated excellence in instructional power moves, understanding of academic excellence
Demonstrated excellence in designing and leading professional development
Ability to influence and motivate others
Ability to manage current reality while driving longer term vision evolution
Flexibility and resourceful; ability to thinking outside the box and provide creative solutions to challenged

- Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred
