Achievement Manager
 
Position Overview:
 
The 3rd-8th grade Math Achievement Manager will serve as an integral member of the KIPP New Orleans Academics Team. Based on candidate profile and experience, the role will either focus on primary or secondary math/ela. The purpose of the Academics Team at KIPP New Orleans is to work with School Leaders to drive student achievement and the KNOS academic vision. We achieve this purpose through developing excellent teachers, supporting great coaching, providing world-class curriculum and being relentless about progress monitoring.
 
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
 
  • Own the creation of the content vision, development of curriculum resources, and support teachers and coaches in the execution of these in the classroom.
  • Own content by ensuring the School Leaders, teachers and coaches are invested and understand the vision, blueprint and framework and how they are aligned to KNOS beliefs about teaching and learning
 
 
Curriculum
Lead creation of best-in-class shared curriculum platform by:
  •       Developing content expertise
  •        Creating and revising Curriculum Vision and Blueprint
  •        Building and revising lesson cycle to reflect beliefs about teaching and learning
  •        Managing content Curriculum and Assessment Fellows
  • Owning creation and revision of Shared Curriculum
  • Scope and Sequence
  • LTP
  • Unit Plans
  • Unit Assessments
Meeting deadlines for curriculum creation and sharing
 
 
Coaching and Teaching
Drive the instructional quality of _____ content by:
  •          Modeling content expertise and effective coaching.
  •          Supporting school based coaches in becoming content experts, building a common  
                 bar, and effectively coaching teachers.
  •          Progress monitoring and tracking development of all content teachers.
  •          Working directly with teachers, as needed, to meet instructional goals
  •          Working with Managing Director of Teaching & Learning and School Leaders to   
build strategy for school based development
  •           Practice coaching strategies and work together to create action plans
  •        Norming on TREE rubric scoring with all coaches
 
 
Assessment and Progress Monitoring
Ensure all teachers and students are on track to meet achievement and development goals by:
 
  • Creating and revising of Content Assessment Cadence
  • Creation and revision of Unit Assessments and Interims, in conjunction with KNOS Assessment Fellows
  • Effectively progress monitor and analyze content data to drive strategy and goals.
  • Working with SLS, coaches and teachers to develop data-driven action plans
 
Professional Development
Use professional development opportunities to accelerate teacher and coach performance by:
 
  • Leading creation and development of Content PD that is aligned to instructional priority
  • Executing regional PD and data dives
  • Leading Coaches PLCs and regional content meetings
 
 
  • Work hand-in-hand with school-based coaches and teachers to meet or exceed goals aligned to Academic Achievement, Teacher Achievement, Curriculum Design and Implementation, Assessment, Coaching and Professional Development

  • Deep commitment to improving the lives of kids from low-income communities; knowledge of and experience working with low-income communities preferred
  • Outstanding leadership and management skills, particularly as it relates to building teams, getting people to share, managing conflict, goal setting, and holding people accountable
  • Outstanding work ethic, organization, and interpersonal skills
  • The flexibility needed to accommodate the breadth and depth of responsibilities and priorities
Compensation:
