The Data Manager is directly responsible for state data reporting, student information system management, and all school-facing academic data for KIPP Kansas City. S/he is critical to the successful and efficient running of KIPP KC schools. This role is a part of the region’s operations team whose goal is to ensure the efficient running of the school so that School Leadership Teams spend their time and effort on academic and instructional goals, not operational concerns.
The Data Manager will report to the Director of Operations. S/he will be an individual who embraces innovation and continuous improvement, is willing to get his/her hands dirty, and relishes the challenge of finding ways to work smarter and more efficiently.
Data Systems and Strategy (25%) - The Data Manager will maintain the data structure and environment for KIPP KC including: Infinite Campus, Illuminate, MAP and EOC testing, data analytics tools. The Data Manager will ensure that data moves efficiently from one system to the others.
Student Data Compliance and Reporting (30%) - The Data Manager will oversee the student information system to ensure that KIPP KC collects all student and staff-related data in order to be in compliance with state reporting. S/he will submit and verify all federal, state, local, and foundation reporting, and will communicate with Ops Team members in a timely manner when s/he needs data from others to complete these tasks.
Academic and Culture Data Sharing (45%) - The Data Manager will regularly share academic and culture data with school-level teams. These reports include grades and assessment, attendance, and other school culture data. Generally these reports are on fixed timelines so teachers, leaders, and the Ops Team know when they can count on information coming out. However, occasional ad hoc reporting will also be necessary.
