Here’s what you’ll be doing as a Leadership Recruiter:
Joining our Talent Recruitment team comes with a lot of growth opportunities, but with great power comes great responsibility. Here are a few (well, many) for this position:
 
Strategy (20%)
  • Define, design and implement leadership recruiting strategies for a variety of school-based, regional, and CMO roles including, but not limited to, Principal in Residence, Assistant Principal, and Achievement Director.
  • Partner with Director of Leadership Development to define detailed candidate profiles that can be used to target active and passive candidates.
Candidate Search & Cultivation (30%)
  • Manage end-to-end searches for leadership which will include:
                             o Sourcing candidates from internal employees, LinkedIn, referrals, applications, etc.
                             o Select highest quality candidates from all applicant pools.
                             o Conducting thoughtful and sophisticated candidate interviews that surface a candidate’s leadership experiences, mission/culture fit for the organization, and 
                               potential readiness for a given role.

                             o Completing proactive outreach and ongoing nurturing of passive candidates whose profiles align to those defined as target audiences.
                             o Defining and delegating engagement tasks to current leaders to move passive candidates to a more active stance.
                             o Managing the distribution and evaluation of pre-interview performance screenings.
                             o Managing the invitation, travel, and logistics for high potential candidates who attend an interview day.

Candidate Selection & Data Management (30%)
  • Skillfully plan and execute multi-candidate, multi-selector interview days for leaders in the three cities where we currently operate (Newark and Camden, NJ; Miami, FL).
  • Follow-up with candidates to communicate outcomes.
  • Capture and maintain accurate candidate information on our applicant tracking and knowledge management systems to facilitate initial searches and candidate data to be used in the selection phase.
Stakeholder Management (30%)
  • Review and evaluate current and future school staffing plans.
  • Foster trust-based relationships with candidates and current leaders/hiring managers that allow for the free flow of affirming and adjusting feedback in service of our goals (e.g., feedback to school leaders or other selectors on interviewing skills).
  • Serve as a skilled problem solver and facilitator in final negotiations.

  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding goals on time and with the resources provided.
  • Ability to track and execute many complex and often competing priorities while mitigating risks of missteps and ensuring a high-quality end result.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and a track record of working collaboratively with others.
  • Highly organized with an editor-like eye for detail and exceptional time management.
  • Demonstrated dedication to personal improvement with a willingness to give and receive feedback.
  • Ability to make progress in situations with a high degree of ambiguity; flexible enough to work autonomously as well as take direction as needed.
  • Solid technical skills with a proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, OneNote, Word, PowerPoint and Excel) and Google Docs.  
Educational Background and Work Experience
Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • 7+ years of work experience
  • Experience as a leader in an education or education/youth-development related organization
  • Track record of using data to identify opportunities and modify strategies, systems, or processes to improve results.
Preferred:
  • Experience as a teacher in a K-12 setting
  • Experience as a leader in a school (Dean, Assistant Principal, or School Leader)
